Rude Children's Place Bag Woman and the Gymbo Mama...

I know 'Tis the Season to be Jolly and kind.. And I should try and be a better person. I try and be better, and I am doing better. But...
In Gymboree, there was this woman who was very rude, I went out of my way to be polite to her. When I went into line there was a woman and her mother who was in line behind me. She had a gorgeous kelly green pea coat and of course I had to ask where she got it. The line was not bad, but after a few minutes grew around the store. The woman in front of me was the rude woman I had encountered in the store. I was not crowding her. But... She hit me with her Children's Place bag several times. It was a HUGE bag, and never did she appologize. She turned and looked, she she knew, and It was so uncomfortable I almost felt like I was at fault, but after years of being the one to not say anything, I decided I would say something. Instead, I turned to the woman behind me ( whom I had been chatting with) who was talking to her her daughter about how much she loved Gymboree, and said "Yes, Gymboree is really worth it, buying inferior cheap clothing like "The Children's Place is really a waste of money, it stains, and wears out, and gymboree is better for your buck. Buying cheap clothing is a waste..." and the women behind me started talking about it.....
Soo.. Cheap shot, but she heard me, and she quit hitting me with her bag.. ;)

The Crunch...

26 days until Christmas.. I am feeling the crunch.. I don't feel like I have enough time to get things together, not enough money...
I listed a few things on eBay and I am not getting many bites. I only have a few auctions up, and the only auction I have bids on is one I didn't think would be going. Who knew?? LOL.
I sold a much loved dress for a low price that I paid a lot for. Sadness. I will be able to buy something for the kids for Christmas, so this is good. I am hoping I can get things going on eBay. Its always tough getting a start. You always have to get things going for a while before things run smooth and starting this time of year is not the best idea.
I need a shower. But yet I am here, venting, trying to think, and knowing I need to dig a few things out, iron, take pictures and start some auctions. I want to print some wedding pictures and put them in the frame I have sitting behind me on the wall, but where did I put my photo paper? At least I remembered to take the chicken out of the freezer to thaw for dinner tonight. And I made the bed. That always makes me feel better. I managed to download my Hawaiian Christmas song by Bing Crosby, I love Christmas songs, they always make me feel better. blah.. Shower first, I feel gross.. bleck!

Thanksgiving Park Adventures..

Thanksgiving afternoon we walked across the street and took Jack to the park for a bit.. It was soo cold but he had a blast playing on the play ground, and while he did that Justin played with his metal detector. Everyone was happy. It was a clear, bright day. The sun was out. Justin found a few coins, and I was able to take a few pictures of Jack.. ;)
P.S. If you look really close you can see Jack put his shoes on the wrong feet :/

Thanksgiving and Black Friday 2010

Thanksgiving this year was about as different as I have ever had. With everything considered we made the decision to go out for dinner than to cook considering we were not able to cook a traditional dinner.
Earlier in the week we had talked about going to the coast and having adventures there, but since Black Friday was the next morning, it was not feasible, so we planned to have a quiet chicken dinner at home and go to bed early. But as the day progressed we changed our course and decided to go out. Not a family dinner, but we were together and it was our first Thanksgiving Married, so it was something to be thankful for.
We went home, and the three of us went to be early, I set the alarm for 2 am, I woke up about 12 and went back to sleep. Big mistake. I woke up at a quarter to four and said OMG, we have to go. We got a late start, and I think we got to Walmart about 4 am. Justin wanted the Bl u Ray player and that started at 5, so he got to the station in time, but everything I was after was GONE. Freaking Walmart, they are lam-o! Their toys were a mess, I tried to get assistance but all of the employees were like zombies. I told Justin that I thought some of the employee's must have brought their friend's to work that day and put on the Walmart vests on. Some of them didn't even acknowledge my questions, they just looked at me, some walked away. I was thoroughly unimpressed with them. I was able to get one thing, but I had to price match it with Target's ad. They had taken a significant number of remote control helicopters that were NOT on sale, made a display in their sale department, that was twice the one that was on sale. most weren't going to notice if they had a large # of items, but I did, big mistake on their part. I hate Walmart. Our next stop, Target. I got a few things, was able to get the 10 gift card for spending 100, then because Walmart had the leapster2 on sale for 25 ( they didn't have any) Target price matched and I used my gc, so it was only 15 at Target ;)... Yay me.
Old navy where the music gave me a panic attack, but bought a few things for Jack.
Gymboree where I bought a ton yet only spent 47.00! ( I initially spent 57, but took a shirt back a few days later)...
Victoria's Secret where my favorite silky pajamas were and the bonus Gift bag with the goodies inside, I always do this, I love getting it. Its as tradition as Black Friday.
Ann Taylor Loft that was all but stripped but I found a cute shirt 40% and I can't wait to wear.
Hollister, I went in looking for some sales but since they had opened at 4, I was a a bit tardy. They were really raided. I walked to the back where the clearance was NON existent. I turned to go back and saw a name tag and looked up to find a missionary and HAD to stop and thank him. I wound up talking to him for quite a while, and his companion. They gave me their number even though they are in the Spanish ward and said they would check up on us. It was reassuring since I don't see many around here, and other than church and the guy we met at the jewelry store there aren't a lot of LDS here.
So, I left the yummy smelling surfing store to find my Husband and Jack in Macy's where Justin found a Columbia Jacket that was 65% off.
Then we finally remembered to go buy our tickets to the Nutcracker. Part of our Christmas is going to the ballet -Jack loves it as much as I do. And then we came home. It wasn't really an all out shop-a-thon but we did find some deals and we did spend some money.

Decorating the Tree.....

Jack helped decorate the tree. It was very important and he put a lot of thought into which tree toper we bought for the tree this year. We decided to go with a blue, silver and purple tree, and he chose a silver star to top it with. He had a lot of fun putting the ornaments on and when I put the tree up two days earlier, he was the one that started fluffing the branches when I was too tired. He is my inspiration..

Crinkles..

Jack and I are at the computer looking at Black Friday Adscans and there are Xbox games on the current page.
He asks me "are you going to get me some of those?".
I reply "no, we don't have a game system".
His retort, "well, you can get me an Xbox for Christmas too?"
I tell him, "no, your not old enough to get one, maybe when your older".
"When I'm six?"
"no"
"seven?"
"no"
"eight?"
"maybe when your twelve"
"THATS too long, I will have crinkles!"
"Crinkles?"
"You know, when people get old, they get crinkles.."
Jack is amusing ;)

twinkle in his eye...

Jack laying on his belly watching cartoons after church reminds me of my childhood. But, when I was a child, there was no cartoon network, there was no disney channel until 19a83 and we did not have it until 1986 when we moved to the main island in Ketchikan. But the twinkle I caught in his eye is similar to a distant memory to one I fondly remember..

The Questions of a Preschool Boy

Today Jack sat next to me and told me he had an important question... So, I told him to go ahead and ask me. I had no idea what to expect.. What he asked me what not at all what I was expecting. So, here goes.. "What color is your wiener bone"... LOL.. I said, ummm.. Hmmm.. Wait and ask Daddy.. So he did.. He explained the blood flow and not actually having a bone and all that good stuff in male anatomy. Its very interesting. My other two boys NEVER asked me that question or any other questions about their body other than why did they have testicles. Jack is so inquisitive.

The Cake...

I bought a wedding cake. OCD in my part. I had to conform to societies traditional idealism. But in my own way. I did not do the expensive tiered special cake. Been there, done that the first time. No need to. I ordered a three layered round, simple white cake with white frosting and pearl accent from good but reliable 'ole Safeway. We did not take pictures, nor did we feed each other a piece, although I did give Justin a nibble with my fingers before we had any. We bought sparkling apple cider and Waterford Crystal Glasses to toast in so it would be special. Jack loved it. The cake was yummy, and the cider was good. I swear, Archer Farm's ( Target brand ) is the best I have ever had, no more Martinelli's for us ever again, that stuff always gave me a tummy-ache ...

Our Wedding

Our day was full of things to do. I had a periodontist appointment in the morning and we had errands to do all day. Get the Tux, Pick up the Cake, Get groceries and rx's, Ran by the Jeweler's for Justin's ring, had to get emergency shoes for Jack because only one black dress shoe could be found, thank goodness we looked at only THREE places (ugh) and wound up going to Gymboree (yay) and got him shoes for a whopping $10.49 thank you Gymboree for Gymbo-Rewards and Promo Sales! I had an appointment with the Neurologist ran until almost five. We got home to find we had no heat, and Justin had to find the landlord and it was a quarter to six before he came back. I was laying on the bed with ice cold cotton rounds on my eyes because I had a migraine and I was trying to minimize the puffiness under my eyes. I put my makeup on while Justin shaved and got a call from my parents who were already at the church at 6:20. They were not only on time, they were early. I asked my Mom to be there at 6:30.
After getting there, I handed the camera over to my mother, and we went into the womens room and I started getting dressed. I fixed my hair and my own Mamarazzi went to work with the camera. Jack and Justin were waiting in the hall and I went out and met them.
I wasn't nervous, but I had definite butterflies. I couldn't believe finally it was happening. I had envisioned for a long time this moment, that it had already happened, and it was sureal for everything I had ever hoped and dreamed was really going to happen.
I pinned the boutineer on Justin that I made ( just a red rose ) and the three of us walked hand in hand down the hallway to the Bishop's office. The Bishop and his wife were there, and very friendly. Our ceremony was very informal and we got started right away. He started with a talk about getting along and longevity.. The ceremony started and he asked Justin if he would take me as his wife and Justin said yes, he asked me and I squeaked out a yes and then he asked Jack to give us the rings. We stood there a moment waiting for a speech on the rings, and he nudged us because there was not going to be one, lol and we put each others rings on and he pronounced us man and wife. He told Justin he could kiss his wife and he did. We cried a bit and held each other for a moment. My Mom took as many pictures as we let her.
Since our wedding was as unconventional as I have ever thought I would have mine. I did do the full, formal dress. I would not have it any other way.
We headed for our dinner reservations at Ambrosia downtown Eugene with just my Parents and Jack and had a nice quiet dinner with them. We toasted with Champagne to our future together and tiramisu after dinner. The restaurant was sweet enough to put the champagne on the house and our deserts because it was our wedding night :) It was the perfect end to the perfect night.
In the end, Jack crawled in bed with us before the night was through and we snuggled like mice in a winters night..

Just another Xanax Tuesday....

Today was OK. I made a list of things left to do, things to buy and when to pick things up. I screwed around online. Called my mom about some serious stuff, talked about some other things that were completely off topic from that, and by the time I got off the phone it was Xanax time. Fortunately I had a few left and was able to calm down and things are better now...
Its dark, winter is so dark and cold. I love my bed, its so warm and cozy.. I wish I could bring it with me where ever I go..
But, on a happy note... Two more days until the wedding!! Things are almost together and we are finally doing it!!!!

The TUX

Last night we went to get the Tuxedo.. It was a big deal, and I hadn't been into a tux shop for quite a while. 2002 for me - Andrew was a ring bearer. We walked into the neighborhood Mr. Formal and looked around. Same as I remember it when I was in high school..
Since we are limited with time, we were quick to decide on what to wear. The focal point is red, my flowers will be red roses. We chose a red vest and black tie with a nice black jacket. I LOVE dressing him up!! I managed a few pictures of him on my phone ( I wish I had taken the camera ), its totally a kodak moment.. He was a good sport!
I can't wait to see him when its time!!! :)
Picking out shoes...................

Looking for a Jacket.. Err not that one ;)

Tadaahhh! The One we went with!

Pain, Drugs and Chocolate, OH MY!

Can't sleep, my neck and back are out of wack and bonus! due to a migraine that after two and a half days I am wide a wake. Just laying here waiting for something to kick in so I can sleep.
But on a good note I found that I had granola in the kitchen with CHOCOLATE chunks just waiting for me and I was clueless! Oh what a night! This discovery is monumental since I am on a diet and will not open the last two boxes of Trader Joe Mint Jo Joe's yet....
I made the mistake of letting my Mom know the wedding will be on Wed, but have not been able to get a hold of her to let her know its Thursday. Will have to do that first thing. I hate being mixed up about days.. I bought the floral tape and ribbon to fix my bouquet, and we have looked at two cake places now. Going to get it ironed out tomorrow, and the tux taken care of too. It will come together. I hope.. Ackk!!!!!!!!
Now, if I could just get my back to pop so my neck would relax some and my head might get some relief and my migraine might ease up. I hate these doozers...............

The Good In People...

This past Thursday we had to go to Walmart :::cringe::: to get something.. I hate shopping there, but thats not the point. Anyone that knows me enough knows this.
We walked in the door and went to get a cart and there was an older Man asking for directions to an item. The "greeter" couldn't understand him. He was asking for where their irons were she was clueless to what he was saying, and rather than educate the greeter, I said come with me I will show you where they are. Halfway there he thanks me for helping him. He then hands me a $200 Walmart gift card. I didn't know what to say, so I stand there a minute then I say "um, Thanks". He takes it from me, says no its HIS, then hands me a business card and starts on some sh-peel about some website and I could earn my own blah blah blah.. That motherpuker... Who the hell does that?? I was being nice, the least the guy could have done was let me show him where the irons were and let me get on my way. I should have kept the gift card. I was royally miffed.. :/

Its Time...

We talked to the Bishop today.. Set the date. Its set, and close. We are getting married in just a couple days! 11/18/10! Crazy.... I am ready though.

The Metal Detector

The newest thing is the Metal Detector. Justin got it this week. After hearing about it for months if not for the last two years, we found one for a neat price at the local pawn shop and after purchasing it, he all but made a mad dash for the nearest place to use it.
Unfortunately it was not as easy as it appeared, and will take some getting used to. We went to three locations and found a quarter, a drywall nail, several beer cans and some barbed wire. But he had a blast and he is itching to go again..

Happy Birthday Jack-Jack!

Jack turned five this past week. I went up to Lebanon and threw him a party. It was fun and sad all in the same. My house is next door to where his Dad lives so I am fortunate to be able to have somewhere to go close to do that. We had a nice party with Andrew, Dare, Barry, Zoey, Matty, Jack, my Mom and Teresa. Jack helped me decorate. I had to buy a second cake due to an accident with the first, and I made a last minute Mickey Mouse shape on the cake just like he wanted. He liked his presents and had a good time. He blew his candle out by using his birthday favor blower. It was quite cute and very Jack.

Growing, Growing, Growing...

I got to spend a little bit time with Zoey when I was in Lebanon. She has grown so much in the last two and a half weeks... Still 100% breastfed, she is a chubb!!!

Exploring the Oregon Coast

On our last day at the Coast before heading back to Eugene we stopped at Cooks Chasm to do some exploring. Growing up in Alaska I loved to crawl around on the rocks and look at things, so this was a good day.. Unfortunately the warmer weather disappeared and it was about 48 degrees with a wind and sprinkles off and on. We parked, put on our coats, I grabbed my camera, and went to get a different backpack and shut the door..... locked.... with the keys in the car... The extra keys in my purse.... in the car.... :/ blah... Justin borrowed a phone from a guy from Montana ( since both our phones were locked in the car ) and a locksmith came out.. After that our day was smooth sailing.. We crawled over rocks, through sea foam, muddly cliffs, it was a blast. And then the day began to fade and we headed home...

Agate Beach

So the first time I have been to the beach since before we moved to Utah, we decided to go to Agate beach, which by the way I am not clear on why its named that, I didn't see a rock on the beach... :/ But it was a gorgeous day for the coast in November and warm 58! The tide was low and the beach went forever. There was a little fuzzy wuzzy Caterpillar half way out that was just inching along that I snapped a few pictures of, Justin felt bad and took him closer to the bank so he wouldn't be bird bait if the fog lifted, but it was interesting that he had made it that long. We had a nice afternoon just walking there, the fog thick and made it look like we were no where and everywhere all the same.
We got a cozy room with a beach view ( bahahahahahaha, yeah it was laughable, but I was too tired to care ) and retired for the night.. I slept so good I didn't even care we didn't have a fan for white noise..
