Thanksgiving and Black Friday 2010

Thanksgiving this year was about as different as I have ever had. With everything considered we made the decision to go out for dinner than to cook considering we were not able to cook a traditional dinner.
Earlier in the week we had talked about going to the coast and having adventures there, but since Black Friday was the next morning, it was not feasible, so we planned to have a quiet chicken dinner at home and go to bed early. But as the day progressed we changed our course and decided to go out. Not a family dinner, but we were together and it was our first Thanksgiving Married, so it was something to be thankful for.
We went home, and the three of us went to be early, I set the alarm for 2 am, I woke up about 12 and went back to sleep. Big mistake. I woke up at a quarter to four and said OMG, we have to go. We got a late start, and I think we got to Walmart about 4 am. Justin wanted the Bl u Ray player and that started at 5, so he got to the station in time, but everything I was after was GONE. Freaking Walmart, they are lam-o! Their toys were a mess, I tried to get assistance but all of the employees were like zombies. I told Justin that I thought some of the employee's must have brought their friend's to work that day and put on the Walmart vests on. Some of them didn't even acknowledge my questions, they just looked at me, some walked away. I was thoroughly unimpressed with them. I was able to get one thing, but I had to price match it with Target's ad. They had taken a significant number of remote control helicopters that were NOT on sale, made a display in their sale department, that was twice the one that was on sale. most weren't going to notice if they had a large # of items, but I did, big mistake on their part. I hate Walmart. Our next stop, Target. I got a few things, was able to get the 10 gift card for spending 100, then because Walmart had the leapster2 on sale for 25 ( they didn't have any) Target price matched and I used my gc, so it was only 15 at Target ;)... Yay me.
Old navy where the music gave me a panic attack, but bought a few things for Jack.
Gymboree where I bought a ton yet only spent 47.00! ( I initially spent 57, but took a shirt back a few days later)...
Victoria's Secret where my favorite silky pajamas were and the bonus Gift bag with the goodies inside, I always do this, I love getting it. Its as tradition as Black Friday.
Ann Taylor Loft that was all but stripped but I found a cute shirt 40% and I can't wait to wear.
Hollister, I went in looking for some sales but since they had opened at 4, I was a a bit tardy. They were really raided. I walked to the back where the clearance was NON existent. I turned to go back and saw a name tag and looked up to find a missionary and HAD to stop and thank him. I wound up talking to him for quite a while, and his companion. They gave me their number even though they are in the Spanish ward and said they would check up on us. It was reassuring since I don't see many around here, and other than church and the guy we met at the jewelry store there aren't a lot of LDS here.
So, I left the yummy smelling surfing store to find my Husband and Jack in Macy's where Justin found a Columbia Jacket that was 65% off.
Then we finally remembered to go buy our tickets to the Nutcracker. Part of our Christmas is going to the ballet -Jack loves it as much as I do. And then we came home. It wasn't really an all out shop-a-thon but we did find some deals and we did spend some money.
